Using the Report ViewerLast Updated: 08/12/2016 Introduced in Verision: 2.0 |
A Report Viewer displays on a portal page, and is configured to open a specific report by default. Using the View drop down list, a user can select different reports to view.
Add a Report Viewer in the Page Designer, in the Toolbox Panel, by expanding the category Reports > [Existing Reports] > [Current Folder] > [Report Name] and dragging a Data View Current Folder component to the workspace.
The user can also add a Report Viewer by expanding the Reports category and dragging a Report Viewer component to the workspace, but the default report must then be configured in the Properties Panel.
Example
The goal of this example is to:
- Create a portal page.
- Add a report viewer displaying a report in the current folder.
- View the page to see the report.
To begin, select a Designer Folder and click the Create Page/Dashboard button.
In the resulting pop-up window, name the page and click Ok to open it in the Page Designer.
In the Toolbox Panel, expand the category Reports > [Existing Reports] > [Current Folder] > Report: ‘Report Name’ and drag a Data View Current Folder component to the workspace.
The Report Viewer will display the selected report by default, but the user can view other reports in it.
This page is complete. Save it and close the Page Designer.
To view the report, select the page’s thumbnail, click the Action menu, and select Preview Page.
The page opens with the selected report displaying in the Report Viewer.
To view a different report, select it from the View drop down list.
