Searching and Filtering Report Results at Runtime

The Report Viewer search box automatically filters a report for results that match a given search key.  To search or filter a report, click the Search button and enter the text the report will match.


The goal of this example is to:

  1. Open a page containing a Report Viewer.
  2. Use the Search function to filter the report.
  3. View the results.

Begin by navigating to a Designer Folder and selecting a pre-designed page that contains a report viewer.  Click the Action link and, in the resulting menu, select View > Preview Page.


The page and report will open in a new window.


To search or filter the report results, click on the Search button which contains the magnifying glass.


Enter text in the search box, the report automatically updates to contain only the matches for the give search criteria.  Notice, the number of results for each group is displayed in the title bar for each group.
