Resetting Report Viewer SettingsLast Updated: 08/12/2016 Introduced in Verision: 2.0 |
When viewing a report, the user can apply grouping and sorting to the report data. To reset the report to its defaulted grouping and sorting settings, click the Reset Settings button.
When the user runs a report, it opens displaying the default settings. If the user makes changes to grouping and sorting while viewing the report, once the user closes it, these settings are not retained.
Example
The goal of this example is to:
- Create a new page and add a Report Viewer.
- Add a default report to the viewer.
- Manipulate view settings and return them to the default.
To begin, navigate to a Designer Folder and click the Create Page/Dashboard button.
Give the page a name and click Ok to open it in the Page Designer.
In the Toolbox Panel, expand the Reports category and drag a Report Viewer component to the workspace.
In the Properties Panel, in the Behavior Section > Default Report field, select a report to display by default.
The page is complete. Save it and close the Page Designer.
To view the page, select its thumbnail and click View > Preview Page from its Action menu.
The page opens with the Report Viewer displaying the report that was set in the Page Designer.
Click a column header and select the icon to group the report by the data in this column.
In the upper right, the Reset Settings button becomes active, and the X on the button displays red.
If the user clicks the Reset Settings button, the report returns to its default grouping setting and the X is no longer red.
