When a user chooses to recover a password, the system mails the user’s current password to the email address associated with the user account. When a user chooses to reset a password, the system generates a random password and sends it to the email address associated with the account.
Recover or reset a password by clicking the Forgot password? link on the Login screen, selecting from the options, and clicking Submit.
After logging in with a recovered or reset password, a user should change the password,
Example
In the example, select the option to recover a password, then to reset a password. Then log in to the portal with the password.
Recover Password
To recover the password, select Send me current password and click Submit.
The system sends an email to the email address entered in the Username field. The email contains the password associated with the account along with a reminder to change the password after logging in.
Access the email, obtain the password, then return to the Password Assistance pop-up. Click the link Click here to go to the Login page.
Reset Password
To reset the password, click the Forgot Password? link on the Login screen.
To reset the password, we select Reset the password and click Submit.
We access the email, obtain the password, then return to the Password Assistance pop-up. Click the link Click here to go to the Login page.
