You can schedule a job to run a flow, send a command, run a report, synchronize an Active Directory, or perform other tasks. Each job can run at different intervals. Using advanced scheduling options, set a job schedule for almost any frequency.
Once a schedule job is added, view the job’s details by selecting the job in the folder data panel. The details display in the panel below.
The Schedule Job wizard walks the user through the process. Open the wizard by navigating to the System > Jobs And Events > Scheduled Jobs folder and clicking Add Schedule Job.
Example
In the example we will create multiple scheduled jobs and set them to run at different intervals.
To begin, we navigate to the System > Jobs And Events > Scheduled Jobs folder and click the Add Schedule Job button.
In the Schedule Job wizard, we can create scheduled jobs for any of the options listed on the Please Select Schedule Job step.
The first job we will add is one that synchronizes information from our Active Directory server with user account information in the platform. An Active Directory must have already been configured in the platform.
We select the Active Directory Sync Job and click Next.
We click Next to move through the wizard accepting the default settings.
On the Simple Calendar step, we select the Every 5 Min option and click Next.
The Active Directory sync job displays in the folder data panel. We could scroll through the information in the Details panel to view more info about the sync job, which is now set to run every five minutes.
To add another job, we click the Add Schedule Job button.
We select the Clean Up Assignments Job option and click Next.
We enter “5” in the Older Than field. The Cleanup Assignments job can be set to run on assignments that have remained incomplete for longer than a specified time.
We click Next.
We will schedule this job to run every 15 minutes by selecting the Every 15 Min option on the Simple Calendar step and clicking Next.
The Clean Up Assignments job displays in the folder data panel, and is scheduled to run every 15 minutes.
To add another job, we select the Add Schedule Job button.
We select the Email Job option and click Next.
We will click Next to accept the default options.
To configure the email job, we will complete the required Email To, Email From and Subject fields and click Next.
On the Simple Calendar step, we will set this job to run every hour by selecting the Every Hour option and clicking Next.
The Email job displays in the folder data panel, and will run every hour, sending the email we set up in the wizard.
To add another job, we select the Add Schedule Job button.
We select the Flow Job option and click Next.
A Flow Job runs a flow we select at the scheduled time.
We click Next to accept the default option.
On the Flow Job Information step, from the Flow drop-down list, we select the flow and click Next.
We click Next to accept the default option.
On the Simple Calendar step, we select the Every Day option and click Next.
The Every Day option requires further settings for the hour and minute when the flow should run. We enter values in the Hour and Minutes fields and click Finish.
The Flow sync job will run every day at the configured time.
To add our final job, we select the Add Schedule Job button, select the URL Job option and click Next.
The URL Job will confirm that a URL address is accessible at the scheduled time.
We enter the required address in the URL field and click Next.
On the Simple Calendar step, we select the Advanced option and click Next.
The Advanced Calendar step allows us to set a job schedule to run at almost any interval. When we select an option and click Next, additional configuration options display.
The Specified Job Schedule option allows us to schedule the job to run once on a specified date at a specified time.
The Daily Schedule option provides additional setting to set the hour and minute the job should run every day.
Using the Weekly Schedule option, we could schedule the job to run once weekly, on a specified day, at a specified hour and minute.
The Monthly Schedule option allows us to schedule the job to run once a month, on a specified day, at a specified hour and minute.
The First Day Of Month Schedule and Last Day of Month Schedule options let us schedule the hour and minute the job should run, and whether it should only run on business days.
The Yearly Schedule option allows us to schedule the job to run once a year, in a specific month, on a specified day, at a specified hour and minute.
The Dynamic Schedule option allows us to select a scheduler to set the job schedule.
The Time Span Schedule provides us with slider bars to set the interval for the schedule job in seconds, minutes, hours, days, month and year.
We select the First Day of Month Schedule option for the URL job and click Next.
We enter values in the Hour and Minute fields and click Finish.
The URL sync job will run at the configured time.
To view schedule details about any sync job, we select it in the folder data panel. The details display in the details panel below.
