Configuring Server for HTTPS Redirection

Last Updated: 12/03/2015 Introduced in Verision: 2.0

The Decisions portal can be configured to force users to use SSL (HTTPS) connections by redirecting HTTP requests to HTTPS. The following describes how to configure your server to do HTTPS redirection.

Example

IIS Configuration:
Configure IIS for HTTPS. To do so follow Microsoft’s instructions found here.
Install the IIS URL Rewrite Module found here.

Decisions Installation/Configuration:
Install Decisions. During the installation wizard, configure base URL to be https://{urlToDecisionsPortal}

 basePageURL
After installation, edit the web.config file found at
For builds before 2.6.5: C:\Program Files\Decisions\Decisions Web Host\web.config.
For build 2.6.5 and greater: C:\Program Files\Decisions\Decisions Web Host\SL\web.config and C:\Program Files\Decisions\Decisions Web Host\H\web.config

Just before the </configuration> tag add the following block.

 Now any requests made to the HTTP address should be redirected to the HTTPS address.
