Changing the Task Sequence Number

Last Updated: 12/03/2015 Introduced in Verision: 2.0

A task sequence number is automatically added to each task name. These numbers help to group and order related tasks.

Change the task sequence number by selecting the number in the System > Common Data Elements > ID Generation folder and clicking Edit in the entity actions menu in the bottom right.

Example

The task sequence number displays before the task name in brackets.

In the example, we will:

  1. Edit the T00000 number.
  2. Add two tasks.
  3. View the tasks with the updated sequence number.

To begin, navigate to the folder System > Common Data Elements > ID Generation. Select the task number to edit, and click Edit in the entity actions menu in the bottom right.

In the Edit Entity IDData pop-up, edit the number in the ID field. By changing it to 2000, the task sequence number will now begin at T002001, the next task added will be automatically assigned the number T002002, and so on.

Click OK.

Tasks added now will begin with this number and each new task will be assigned the next number in sequence.

Add two tasks by navigating to a project folder, clicking the Add button, and selecting Basic Task (Multiple).
