Tasks can be assigned for Designer entities at the entity level from the Actions > History/Documentation menu option available on the entity. (Note that reports currently do not have this ability however.) This creates a task that is generated as a To-Do and appears in the assigned user’s task list.
To add a task at the entity level, click the Action menu on the entity thumbnail and select History/Documentation Actions > Open/View.
From the Assign Task menu, select either To Do or To Do(Assigned To Me), depending on whether assignment is to another user.
Complete the To Do and click OK. After reloading the History page for the entity, notice the To Do task listed as an Assignment entity in the All History Folder Data panel.
