Adding Charts to a Portal PageLast Updated: 08/12/2016 Introduced in Verision: 2.0 |
Charts represent report results in a graphical form.
To add a chart to a portal page, first ensure that a report has had a chart built for it in the Report Designer. Then, in the Page Designer, drag a chart component into the workspace from the Reports > Chart category of the Toolbox Panel. In the Chart Data section of the Properties Panel, use the Source selector to select the report and value that will be added to the chart’s data source.
Example
The goal of this example is to:
- Create a portal page and add two charts to it.
- View the charts by previewing the page.
Begin by navigating to the Designer Folder and clicking the Create Page/Dashboard button.
In the resulting New Page pop-up window, give the new page a name and click Ok.
Add the first chart to the page by dragging the Bubbles component into the workspace from the Reports > Charts category of the Toolbox Panel.
In the Properties Panel, under Chart Data click the Source selector.
In the resulting pop-up window, select the report and value to be used as the chart’s data source.
Next, add a second chart to the page by dragging a Bars component into the workspace from the Reports > Charts category in the Toolbox Panel.
In the Properties Panel, click the Source selector.
In the Picker pop-up window, select the report and value to be used as the chart’s data source.
This completes the page, save it and close the Page Designer.
Back in the Designer Folder, we will preview our page by selecting View > Preview Page in its Action menu.
The page and its two charts will appear in a new window. Each illustration shows the same data in a different format.
