Add AssetLast Updated: 12/03/2015 Introduced in Verision: 2.0 |
The configuration management database (CMDB) is used to manage assets such as hardware, software, office equipment, furniture, and other items. Assets typically have an associated financial amount and can be tied to a contract, assigned to an account, associated with a task, or associated with another asset.
To add an asset, navigate to the CMDB folder and select Add Asset.
Example
In the example, we add a computer to the CMDB.
We begin by navigating to the folder CMDB. We click the All button in the CMDB folder data panel, and select Add Asset.
The Add Asset pop-up displays. In the Name field, we type the name and include other information about the asset as needed.
We click Save.
To view the details of the asset from the entity report, we click the entity name in the CMDB folder data panel.
